Short - Medium Term Accommodation

Short Term Accommodation and Medium Term Accommodation

There are times when the unexpected occurs. You go through a crisis, an unexpected change in circumstances, are hospitalized due to a serious illness, or your caregiver needs a break or is temporarily unable to look after you. Having access to safe housing where you can receive the care you need during those times is essential.
To avoid an extended hospital stay or an early placement in an elderly care facility, we offer short-term housing for persons with impairments so they can preserve their social contacts. Under the NDIS, this type of lodging is referred to as Short Term and Medium Term Accommodation. Here is a list of both lodging options, along with what we offer to help people in need.

What is Medium Term Accommodation?

MTA, or medium-term accommodations, refers to temporary housing for NDIS participants who are getting ready to move into a more permanent residence. For a maximum of 90 days, the NDIS will pay for qualifying participants’ medium-term housing. This prevents elderly individuals from being forced into care facilities or from having to wait in hospitals longer than necessary.
